Sept. 13, 2020 Will be Reopening Date

Ken Roach   |    Aug 18, 2020

We are pleased to announce that we will be moving forward with reopening our worship centers on Sunday, September 13, 2020. All aspects of our on-campus ministry will re-open for Sunday mornings, including Worship, Groups, Children and Students.

The Frazer Family began outdoor worship in August. As cases continue to decline in our area, we have determined that the appropriate time has come to reopen indoor worship, following the guidelines to create as safe an environment as possible. As we observe other churches that have reopened, we expect a portion of our congregation to be ready to return immediately, while others will want to wait and continue to worship and participate virtually.

What to Expect

We will follow all state and local ordinances regarding masks, and, more importantly, we want to follow the Law of Christ, which is to love my neighbor as myself. Right now, one of the ways we love our neighbors is by wearing a face covering, especially when we are singing. Remember, the mask isn’t really there to protect you, but to reduce the risk for others. If you happen to forget your mask, we’ll have some extras on hand.

Our 8:00am service in the East Sanctuary will look a little different. This is the one for those who want additional precautions above and beyond the general recommendations. A major difference will be a blended musical style with no congregational singing. Use of masks will be strictly enforced. Preregistration is necessary for this service in order to ensure adequate social distancing.

Virtual Options Continue

We understand that not everyone is able or ready to return to in-person worship. We believe that you can experience authentic worship even in a virtual environment, whether by livestream or by television. We encourage those who engage this way to also get involved in a virtual group. Many of our Sunday School classes and Small Groups will continue to meet online this fall. New groups starting up in September that you can join by Zoom; more information on the Connect page.
