Our normal worship services and programs are currently suspended due to COVID-19 containment.
We will follow all state and local ordinances regarding masks, and, more importantly, we want to follow the Law of Christ, which is to love my neighbor as myself. Right now, one of the ways we love our neighbors is by wearing a face covering, especially when we are singing. Remember, the mask isn’t really there to protect you, but to reduce the risk for others. If you happen to forget your mask, we’ll have some extras on hand.
Once inside, we’ll maintain social distancing of six feet between households. We encourage waves and smiles instead of handshakes and hugs. We've removed most contact from our services; for example, we use offering boxes rather than passing an offering plate, and put song lyrics on our screens rather than share hymnals. We encourage frequent handwashing and will have hand sanitizer located throughout the building. We do enhanced cleaning before and after each service in our worship centers, meeting rooms and high traffic areas.
Our 8:00am service in the East Sanctuary will look a little different. This is the one for those who want additional precautions above and beyond the general recommendations. A major difference will be a blended musical style with no congregational singing. Use of masks will be strictly enforced. Temperatures will be checked at the entrance.
We understand that not everyone is able or ready to return to in-person worship. We believe that you can experience authentic worship even in a virtual environment, whether by live stream or by television. We encourage those who engage this way to also get involved in a virtual group. Many of our Sunday School classes and Small Groups will continue to meet online; more information on the Connect page.
