Frazer Announces New Director of Adult Choir and Orchestra

Jul 15, 2021

Frazer Church is pleased to announce the hiring of Jordan Sullivan as our Director of Adult Choir and Orchestra. On August 1, 2021, Mrs. Sullivan will join our Music and Worship Ministry Team with a primary focus on our Traditional Worship service.

Jordan joins us from Trinity Presbyterian School where she served as Middle and Upper School Choral Director. She has previously served as Music Director at Ramer United Methodist Church as well as several teaching and musical leadership positions. She holds a Bachelors in Choral Music Education and a Masters in Music Education, both from Troy University. She is the recipient of numerous vocal and choral leadership awards.

Jordan’s selection is the culmination of a multi-step hiring process that involved lay leadership and representatives from the choir, orchestra, and traditional worship congregation at every stage. Among several well-qualified candidates who were identified, Jordan was unanimously selected as the best fit for Frazer’s present needs and future vision.

“Frazer has a tremendous heritage of using excellence in music to lead God’s people in worship and reach the hearts of people for Christ,” said Senior Pastor Chris Montgomery. “With Jordan on board, we are ready to begin the next chapter of that legacy.”

Criteria for the position included not only musical education and leadership experience, but also most important the spiritual characteristics of a true worship leader. “At Frazer, we know that true worship comes out of the heart,” said Minister of Music and Worship Jerrod Dorminey. “We could clearly see that Jordan is the kind of worship leader whose ministry flows out of her deep love for God and love for people.”

“I grew up singing in the church and have always found it to be my calling,” Jordan stated. “I believe in the power of music and its ability to transform the hearts of both participants and listeners. Singing has always been a passion of mine and my personal form of ministry. I am thrilled and humbled to be selected for this position.”

Jordan is married to Todd Sullivan and they have a two-year-old son, Brett. Her first Sunday leading worship will be August 8 at our 9:30 a.m. service.
